Topic: Image Size

The default size for images is way too small.I want the viewers of my photography to be able to see more detail.

I am using the free version of 1.8

Is this possible?

Re: Image Size

In gallery.xml you can set the max image size. Simpleviewer will automatically scale any larger images to this size.

<simpleviewerGallery maxImageWidth="787" maxImageHeight="525"

here is my setup:
<simpleviewerGallery maxImageWidth="787" maxImageHeight="525" textColor="0xFFFFFF" frameColor="0xffffff" frameWidth="5" stagePadding="30" thumbnailColumns="4" thumbnailRows="4" navPosition="left" title="Catherine and Caleb" enableRightClickOpen="false" backgroundImagePath = "background.jpg">

Re: Image Size

I have the same problem, but I can not get it to work, if I try to do as pnorman says.

I change my settings in buildgallery.php and my source looks like this:

$options .= '<SIMPLEVIEWER_DATA maxImageDimension="1000" textColor="0xFFFFFF" frameColor="0xFFFFFF" bgColor="0x000000" frameWidth="0" stagePadding="40" thumbnailColumns="4" thumbnailRows="5" navPosition="right" navDirection="LTR" title="Foldbumser" imagePath="" thumbPath="">';

If I change dimensions to 100 the images in the gallery gets smaller, but i can not get the images larger then the default settings.

Re: Image Size

I don't know about maxImageDimension. try using maxImageWidth="787" maxImageHeight="525"

If that doesn't work then I don't know why?

Re: Image Size

I set both max measurements to 600 but nothing changed.

Re: Image Size

Did you try scaling the SimpleViewer placeholder?    That worked for me last week.   I had to tweak it alot, but I got favorable results.

Hope that helps.   wink

Re: Image Size

What is the actual dimension in pixels of the image itself? The image will never be bigger that these dimensions. Other things that will effect the image size are screen resoluiton, browerser window size, SimpleViewer container size and your setting of number of thumbnails and your setting of 'stagepadding'.
All these factors will affect the resulting size of the image. SimpleViewer will scale down every image to fit within the available space based on all of the above. This is normal behaviour.

Can you post the url of the gallery so we can see for ourselves?

Re: Image Size

My photography site

www.PrimalLens.com  (wrning-artistic nudity on site)

I have horizontal images and the longest side on any of them is 600. I set the max image height and width both to 600 but they stay the default size,round 350.

Re: Image Size

In your html you are restricting the size of the viewer thus:
var fo = new SWFObject("viewer.swf", "viewer",
"640", "480", "7", "#c0c0c0");

So the maximum width for the entire viewer including thumbnails and padding is 640. Try increasing these dimensions.

How about these settings?
thumbnailColumns="6" thumbnailRows="1" navPosition="bottom"

Re: Image Size

Hi all
what is possible for panoramic format of photo (1600x500 for exemplae)
Any idea?

Re: Image Size

The maximum size of any image displayed is controlled by the setting of maxIMageWidth and maxImageHeight. If you want to display some of your images as a panorama then you will need to format all your images to the exact size you want to display them and then set gallery.xml something like this

maxIMageWidth="1200" maxImageHeight="600"

wiht these setting, if your images are set to 600x400 pixels landscape or portrait then that's how they will display, and your panoramic image will display 1200x375 pixels.

Keep in mind that the larger you make the images the fewer the number of people who will be able to view it without using scroll bars, and the larger the image the longer it will take to download.
