Topic: stopping swf from playing on preload/ or altering preload

i have a couple swf videos in my gallery. they are progressive videos, so they reference an flv file in the same directory. the problem is that when the thumbs are fully loaded they begin to play, resulting in a cacophony by the end of the preload. ideally these files would wait to begin playing until their respective thumb hit and stop with the next successive hit. is there a way to do this?

thanks,  rr

Re: stopping swf from playing on preload/ or altering preload

i figured it out myself.
there are essentially 2 options; set the preloading to false in Options.as file, which interrupts all preloading in the gallery.
or, in your .swf file you can select the video stage and set autoPlay: false under the Component Inspector. this way you can have everything preload, but nothing will play until the user clicks the play button on the .swf skin.

that said, i am still having problems with the viewer reading progressive video feeds. i get a flashing flv icon as if the links are bad, but they im pretty sure they're not.

Had you size problems with your swf containig the flv skinned ?

I tried this solution but I have wrong dimensions if I use swf skins. It is shown on this screen shot: http://cjoint.com/data/jbkHpUG3vK.htm
