Topic: Thumbnail Names in XML

can you specify the location/name of the thumbnail for an image in the XML document???

eg:

    <IMAGE>
        <NAME>cp1.jpg</NAME>
        <THUMB>cp1_thumb.jpg</THUMB>
        <CAPTION>untitled #001</CAPTION>
    </IMAGE>

if not? then I'll put it in the requests area :S

Also is it possible to call images by http://www.site.com/pics/folder/cp1.jpg???

The main reason why I ask these questions is because I'm looking to try and use my blog as the backend for a small flash portfolio system (which this would pretty much be!).

Thanks

Re: Thumbnail Names in XML

In the xml document there are 2 blank entries for imagePath and thumbPath that you can use to specify an absolute or relative path.

I'm totally aware of the path part for the images, but unfortunutally it doesn't help me. Most of my images have different prefixes to the file name as apposed to folders.
Using the path method the image and its thumbnail would still have to be named the same, but exist in different folders.

Re: Thumbnail Names in XML

Something new about this ? I currently have the same problem !

is it possible ?

Re: Thumbnail Names in XML

I need this functionality too. So far all I can find is this hack: http://www.airtightinteractive.com/foru … =2855#2855

Re: Thumbnail Names in XML

Not sure if this helps, but..

I copy all my images into the image and thumb folders,  and a large image folder for the caption link, batch process to sizes, then use a renamer tool to name them sequentially 01.jpg 02 jpg etc

Re: Thumbnail Names in XML

It's easy to fix...

Let's say you have a folder /images/ with your thumbs and normal images in it.

thumb: mini_file.jpg
normal: file.jpg

set you XML options:

imagePath="images/"
thumbPath="images/mini_"

<IMAGE>
      <NAME>file.jpg</NAME>
      <CAPTION>bla bla bla</CAPTION>
</IMAGE>

Only works if it's a prefix.... cp1.jpg and cp1_thumb.jpg won't work...
