Topic: Mulitple galleries diffrent pages...

Hi guys

I have already searched the faq ( q 16) and the rest of the topics but none could help me as i dont use the HTML i got in the smplvwr folder.

This is my problem.
I made a site wich has a button for my portfolio. under this button there are several options like nature, portret etc

Now i managed to get the simpleviewer into the nature part, for this i needed to put the file in the root folder of my website.

But now im trying to add a simpleviewer to my portrets part but that doesnt work now as the files of nature are already in the root!!

Can anybody please explain how i can get this done!?

thnx in advance

i have searched the forum 10.000 times but it just wont work!
when i look at the example multiple galleries its just a terrible color and i cant even change it! someone plz help!

Re: Mulitple galleries diffrent pages...

For multiple galleries you need to do something like this:

root
.....your_gallery_#1
.........images
.........thumbs
.........gallery.xml
.........index.html
.........swfobject.js
.........viewer.swf
.....your_gallery_#2
.........images
.........thumbs
.........gallery.xml
.........index.html
.........swfobject.js
.........viewer.swf
.....your_gallery_#3
.........images
.........thumbs
.........gallery.xml
.........index.html
.........swfobject.js
.........viewer.swf

as far as I know...

Re: Mulitple galleries diffrent pages...

Yes i tried something like that,

But when you do that you need to tell the viewer.sfw where he can find the gallery.xml

But the viewer file is coded so i am not able to tell it the path where the gallery .xml is located.
can you tell me how to do that!?

And if im right i dont need to use the INDEX.HTML, im not using it now anyway.

BTW the way i do it now is as follows,

open dreamweaver,

open the page i wish to put SV in,
add a flash thingie and select the Viewer.sfw.
then i need to make sure the IMAGES and THUMBS as well as the GALLERY.XML are in the ROOT folder otherwise it wont Work.....

Re: Mulitple galleries diffrent pages...

I don't know anything about dreamweaver. Sorry.
I use an index.html for each gallery as posted above.
You can specify the location of gallery.xml in the index.html

    <script type="text/javascript">
        var fo = new SWFObject("viewer.swf", "viewer", "100%", "100%", "8", "#181818");
        fo.addVariable("preloaderColor", "0xffffff");
        fo.addVariable("xmlDataPath", "/your_path/gallery.xml");
        fo.write("flashcontent");
    </script>

Re: Mulitple galleries diffrent pages...

I am fairly sure you will need separate folders for each gallery, which means separate viewer.swf and gallery.xml files. How you tell dreamweaver to link the buttons to the individual galleries and put them into the same container I do not know (wish I did).

great....had i read this last night i wouldve saved 2 hours of my life figuring it out...lol

i have successfully managed to get this working....im using 2 galleries in one spry tabbed panel...but not that successful...seems to work fine in firefox (ie in each tab the respective gallery shows up) but in IE, it only shows one of the galleries and displays the "get flash" message on the second panel....any suggestions how to get crappy IE to be more accepting? im thinking its not a problem with the gallery but rather IE itself
