Topic: Trouble with images in AV and SV

I am having issues viewing my entire photo set in AV and SV once they are uploaded to my host site.  There is an "x" placeholder for about half of my images.  I have checked the file tree, resized and renamed the images and disabled the hotlink protection, yet I continue to have this issue.  The site is fine when I view it in html editor, but once uploaded the problem begins.  The site is

www_3branchstudio_com

If you click on portfolio, then "The pod", "Design/build" or "Photography", you can see the issues.

Any advice would be great, thanks.

Check your jpgs are uploaded to the correct location. Also check the filename letter cases.

Re: Trouble with images in AV and SV

The file is on the ftp site, but it is not clear why I am getting the error.  Is it possible the ftp site is causing the issue?  I already checked hot links and it's not that; I cannot find an explanation.  I've even deleted the files and uploaded again to no avail.  Should I try unistalling the viewers and reinstalling them?  I'm not sure if there is a way to resolve the issue.

Re: Trouble with images in AV and SV

I also forgot to mention that I resized and renamed the images to be sure that wasn't the problem; when I uploaded the images, the same ones worked as before, despite the totally different file names.  Is there a possible explanation for this?  In dreamweaver they work just fine.

Re: Trouble with images in AV and SV

ZIP up your index.html, gallery.xml and the first thirty of your images and matching thumbs, from the 'Photography' gallery in the 'simpleviewer' folder. Email the zip file to nospam.cadd@phillipnorman.com (remove nospam.)

Thanks for helping out Phil.

ggorby, looks like your filepaths are wrong. http://www.3branchstudio.com/autoviewer … ming_1.jpg does not exist. Note that image urls are relative to the HTML page that contains the SWF.

Re: Trouble with images in AV and SV

Thanks for your attention to my issue.  I still don't think it is the image paths because some of the images are working and others aren't which are in the same folder.  pnorman I will send you the files this evening as I am at work and don't have access to them.  Again, thanks you and just to clear up any confusion I am not angry just frustrated that I am unable to fix the issues.

Re: Trouble with images in AV and SV

I finally discovered the issue causing me so many problems.  The file extension .jpg was capitalized; which apparantely is an issue.  I would have noticed it sooner except the file extension isn't typically shown when veiwing images in windows explorer.  Also the fact that the site worked in my htmal editor and didn't on the ftp seemed a bit strange.  Anyway thanks to all that replied and offered help.  I will be more careful and thorough in the future.  The viewers look great!

Re: Trouble with images in AV and SV

It is a simple but annoying thing, and commonly missed. I have for as long as I can remember always set any file browser to display complete file names with extensions.
