Topic: AutoViewer works with IE but not with FireFox

Hello

my AutoViewer works in IE but not with the FireFox.

In FireFox I can see the controle buttons but I can not see the the pictures. There are not those crosses - there is just nothing.

If I watch the Demo Gallery from airtightinteractive it works fine. So it is not a FireFox problem.

It would be nice if someone could tell me what the problem might be.

Thank you very much.

I'm having the same problem as well.

Re: AutoViewer works with IE but not with FireFox

The demo works fine on Firefox but for some reason my site doesn't work on firefox.  IE is fine with both demo and my site.

Try upgrading to the latest version of AutoViewer.

Re: AutoViewer works with IE but not with FireFox

my AutoViewer works in IE but not with the FireFox.

Oddly, it works in Firefox (mostly*) and not in IE when I embed it within an html page.

My hunch is that it has something to do with specifying a percentage size of the screen to show the photos in (I used 100% width but 70% height) -- I also commented out the overflow hidden item in the html style.

I tried it within Firefox using the IETab plug-in and also in IE7 itself - same result.

*there was a huge gap below the photos, to the instructions text that I added.  Hence why I commented out the overflow parameter.

Turned out to be an issue with my modified index.html: you cannot have a "<center>" tag than starts before the "<script>" (e.g. for my titles) and finishes after it (e.g. for my added instructions below the viewer).

The solution is to have a "</center>" before "<script>" and then do another "<centre>" after the "</script>".

Furthermore, I set the parameter for the viewer's height to "70%" -- but the instructions I add below the viewer are still spaced well down, as if it was still at "100%" height.

Re: AutoViewer works with IE but not with FireFox

My problem is the same as the initial post:

my AutoViewer works in IE (works greats) but not with the FireFox 3.07.

In FireFox I can see the control buttons but I can not see the the pictures.
If I watch the Demo Gallery from airtightinteractive it works fine.

Re: AutoViewer works with IE but not with FireFox

If it works in IE but not FF, chances are it's a CSS issue.

My gallery does not show in Firefox or gets cropped to a small height. Why?

Check your CSS. Firefox requires that you explicitly set the height of the html and body tags, plus the div that contains AutoViewer. Try setting them all to 100% or the height you require in pixels. For an example, check the CSS in the index.html file that comes in the AutoViewer download.

...not what I wanted to hear, but thanks for the quick reply.

ps. I also have tiltviewer on the same site. It works fine in both IE and Firefox.

Re: AutoViewer works with IE but not with FireFox

Today, the autoviewer now works perfectly.javascript:emoticon(':D')
Perhaps it had something to do with the server where the site is uploaded.

Regardless, thanks for making autoviewer available for use. It's beautiful in its visual 'simplicity' which gives emphasis to the gallery images.

I have the same issue.

Re: AutoViewer works with IE but not with FireFox

I have the same issue. My autoviewer gallery works great in IE7 and Google Chrome but in FF all I can see is the navigation arrows and caption.

However if I plug in an image stored at an external url (ie in picassa) the gallery displays that image properly.

Groovy. Anyways, I' ll probably give external link to all my images just in case but here's a link to my gallery:

http://matenzo.awardspace.biz/GDuncompr/autoviewer.swf
http://matenzo.awardspace.biz/GDuncompr/index.html

and here's the xml (I removed the code for most of the images)

For the first frame I used the actual url from the pic located on the image folder (shows on IE GC but not on FF). For the second frame is a link to the same pic on my picassa album (shows in ALL three browsers) and the rest are default (show on IE and GC but not on FF).

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<gallery frameColor="0xDFFE00" frameWidth="15" imagePadding="20" displayTime="6" enableRightClickOpen="true">

Just for the case: I have got the same symptoms due to a mistake in my XML:
I used backslashes instead of slashes.
IE and Chrome don't care, Gecko-based browsers and Mac / Linux/ Unix  based browsers will not find the path.
If you don't get the pictures, check that first.

Re: AutoViewer works with IE but not with FireFox

Had the same problem - works fine in all browsers except Firefox.

My problem was solved by this post http://www.simpleviewer.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=5989.

Just add

fo.addParam("wmode", "opaque");

to your index.html just before

fo.write("flashcontent");
