Topic: Setting up autoviewer on a Mac

I'm using a mac OS 10.5.4 and I've been trying to get started with an autoviewer gallery using Picasa but am none the wiser from the instructions on the website.

I've installed Picasa and have created an online galleries.

I've downloaded the web template but can't find the path to put it into.

What is the simplest way of seting up an autoviewer on a Mac?

Thanks in advance,

Andrew Parker

Re: Setting up autoviewer on a Mac

Hi Felix,

Yes I can use the Picasa Web Uploader to create web galleries on a Mac.

But I have so far had to use Adobe Lightroom to create an Autoviewer.

Is there any other simple way to do that on a Mac? I don't need Lightroom for any other reasons.

Thanks,

Andrew

Re: Setting up autoviewer on a Mac

I´ve also tried to get autoviewer to work via Picasa (which I just installed on my imac). No problem uploading pictures to picasa, but according to the how-to-guide on airtights website, the autoviewer web templates should be unziped to here:  C:Program FilesPicasa2webtemplates) The thing is though that I can´t find any picasa folders at all! All I can find on my harddrive is the picasasymbol, which starts the program when clicked. So where the heck do I put the templates?

Re: Setting up autoviewer on a Mac

1. Click on the the Picasa icon and right click.
2. Select 'Show Package Contents'
3. Double click on 'Contents'
4. Double click on 'Resources'
5. Scroll down and double click 'web'
6. Double click 'templates'
7. Drag and drop the 'autoviewer_picasa_template' folder here.

And now you'll have the option of selecting the auto viewer template!

Re: Setting up autoviewer on a Mac

Okay, I've managed to get this far.

The page then loads in Safari, but it's blank.

I'm stuck. Can anyone help?

Re: Setting up autoviewer on a Mac

There was an issue with Picasa on the Mac v3.0.4 and earlier not working with web templates. It's now fixed with v3.0.5.

I updated the docs to include mac paths: http://www.airtightinteractive.com/proj … truct.html
