Topic: Can anyone help me put gallery onto existing page?

I'm not finding the answer I need here. Can anyone help?

I have altered the code in all the files I need and am having trouble with the gallery showing up on the page. Instead, there is a message:

SimpleViewer requires JavaScript and the Flash Player.
Get Flash.

I have the most up to date Flash Player already.

Prior to this I was getting a message that there was a problem with the swfobject.

thanks in advance for your help!!

Re: Can anyone help me put gallery onto existing page?

1) Did you upload the swfobject.js file?

2) Did you add this at the top of your HTML page:

<script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script>

yes, that code is already in there.

Re: Can anyone help me put gallery onto existing page?

I'm sorry I cannot help you.  I am just about in the same boat!  sad

PLEASE, I need someone's help.  You can take a look at www thefullquiver com/photoalbum html

I took instructions from the SimpleViewer FAQ page ("11. How do I insert SimpleViewer into a pre-existing HTML page?").  The Viewer was showing up, but every single image/thumbnail said "image not found."

Also, the code from the above 11. question does not make a bit of sense to me.

Can someone please help me?  Thanks a bunch.

Re: Can anyone help me put gallery onto existing page?

ok.. I think my fault..

I didn´t put in the CSS-Code.. now the viewer.swf shows up.

BUt now it can´t find the images again. Gallery not Found appears and I set the correct path in the xml, also I added the path of the xml to the javascript, like mentioned in the FAQ.

-----

Update: Well, I solved my problem. I´m now using the way for myspace, but of course in the xhtml-correct way, because "embed" is naughty.

<p><object width="550" height="400" data="/path/viewer.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
<param value="/path/viewer.swf" name="movie" />
<param name="FlashVars" value="xmlDataPath=/path/gallery.xml" /> </object></p>

Now, Simpleviewer doesn´t have problems to find the XML and the images folder.

Finally I can start to cook and watch MST3K.. goodnight people.

Re: Can anyone help me put gallery onto existing page?

I have the same problem as jpkyle above!

I initially posted a very similar question yesterday (I think) on the customisation page.

Why am I getting the message "SimpleViewer requires JavaScript and the Flash Player. Get Flash."

I have done everything as requested re the script as mentioned above, but with no luck.  Please help

Thank you
