Topic: Caption positioning question

Hi there, I would like to move the caption text from its current top left position to under the displayed image. I have searched the forum and found two related topics - caption position - neither of which worked for me. Is there another way to achieve this?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Caption positioning question

AutoViewer-Pro does not support captions under the images. You can move the captions by editing the source code.

Re: Caption positioning question

Hi Felix, thanks for the swift reply. Sorry if this is a dumb question but could you please point me in the direction of which file I should edit to move the vertical positioning of the caption.
Thanks again.

Re: Caption positioning question

miked-ire,

Hello!
What you need to do to move the captions is go into the
source/com/airtightinteractive/apps/viewers/autoViewer/Image.as
you can open this file in notepad/but if you have flash I would open it there becase it will make it easier to read.

Now you need to look for this code:

if (Options.showCaptions){
            mcCaption.attachMovie("Caption","mcCaption",mcCaption.getNextHighestDepth());
            mcCaption.mcCaption.txtCaption.html = true;
            mcCaption.mcCaption.txtCaption.wordWrap = true;
            mcCaption.mcCaption.txtCaption.multiline = true;
            mcCaption.mcCaption.txtCaption.autosize = true;
            mcCaption.mcCaption.txtCaption.htmlText = mCaption;
        }

        mcCaption._x = Options.captionPadding + mXMLManager.frameWidth;
        mcCaption._y = Options.captionPadding + mXMLManager.frameWidth;

The part you need to change is:

mcCaption._x = Options.captionPadding + mXMLManager.frameWidth;
        mcCaption._y = Options.captionPadding + mXMLManager.frameWidth;

Change it to

mcCaption._x = 50;
mcCaption._y = 50;

Actually you dont need to change it to these specific numbers (these just refer to where it will fall in the x or y positioning

if you want to move the text right increase the x number
if you want to move the text down increase the y number

move it up by decreasing y
move it left decrease the x

let me know if this works out!

oh and you should also republish the .fla file once you have saved the .as file
