Topic: setting Flickr tags for multiple galleries in existing FLA

I just bought the Pro Tilt Viewer with the idea of letting the client use their Flickr account to show multiple galleries using tags as the mode of defining the different galleries.
I'm looking at the actionscript and I understand loading multiple galleries
into my existing swf and that the button movie clips instance names representing the gallery id's.
What I'm not sure of is where I define the tag names in the actionscript,
or how do I connect the var id in the actionscript to the tags in Flickr.

Thanks for your time.

Re: setting Flickr tags for multiple galleries in existing FLA

Hi there howlinwolf:

The vars used to define parameters with wich the gallery will be displayed, as far as I can tell, are exclusivelly defined on the html, vía JavaScript, in particular using the SWFObject method. The ActionScript just "builds" the animation, while the JavaScript "feeds" the data.

Hope this works for you.

Re: setting Flickr tags for multiple galleries in existing FLA

Thanks,
I don't have much experience with this technique so I'll start digging in.
The code for the supplied html only has one place to put tags.

fo addVariable ("tags", "jump,smile");

I understand how this works for 1 gallery but it's not clear how to
add a second set of tags for other galleries.

Would I add another addVariable("tags", "nature");

I'm a bit lost.

Thanks for the reply and your time.

Re: setting Flickr tags for multiple galleries in existing FLA

Hi,

check the 'flash_embed_multiple.fla' example in the TiltViewer-pro download. This shows how to load 2 TiltViewer-pro galleries into 1 container SWF. Check the actionscript in the first frame. Check the 'setOptions()' function - you will see that you can set the config options here. So this is where you will add your specific tags.

Re: setting Flickr tags for multiple galleries in existing FLA

Hi Felix,
Amazing work, thanks for the reply.
would I set optionsId to ==  "nature" instead of 1?
Or write an additional option like this?

options.tag = "nature";   or would it be...
options.tags = "nature";

if (optionsId == 1){
        //Set example options here
        options.columns = 3;
        options.rows = 2;
        options.useReloadButton = false;
        options.bkgndTransparent = true;
        options.useFlickr = true;
                options.tag = "nature";
        options.maxJPGSize = 640;

I'm so sorry if I'm being totally clueless on this.
All the best.
