Topic: TV-Pro works only in IE when using XML gallery

Hello, folks!

I'm making a portfolio website where I'm using the (really awesome) TiltViewer Pro. However, I'm having some difficulties with it.

The main problem is that it does not work at all in FF or Opera (Safari not yet tested) when I'm using XML galleries. All I get is a big black nothing (FYI, the nothing is not necessarily black, see below). In IE, however, it works perfectly. I've tested using flickr galleries, and if I do that, it works in other browsers as well.

It's not online yet, but here is the relevant xhtml code:

      <div style="height&#58; 555px; width&#58; 800px;">

      <div id="flashcontent">
        <p class="content">
          Denne siden krever Flash Player. Om det ikke er installert, vennligst last det ned
          <a href="blah blah">her</a>. Om det er deaktivert eller blokkert, aktiver det i din nettlesers
          innstillinger. Om du har Flash og denne meldingen egentlig ikke har noe her &aring; gj&oslash;re, <a href="svalbard.html?detectflash=false">klikk her</a>.
        </p>
      </div>

              <script type="text/javascript">
          var fo = new SWFObject&#40;"TiltViewer.swf", "viewer", "800", "555", "9.0.28", "#000000"&#41;;

          //FLICKR GALLERY OPTIONS
          //For temporary test use
          //fo.addVariable&#40;"useFlickr", "true"&#41;;
          //fo.addVariable&#40;"tags", "strobist"&#41;;
          //fo.addVariable&#40;"tag_mode", "all"&#41;;
          //fo.addVariable&#40;"showTakenByText", "true"&#41;;

          // XML GALLERY OPTIONS
          //De-comment when gallery is ready
          fo.addVariable&#40;"useFlickr", "false"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"xmlURL", "svalbard.xml"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"maxJPGSize","3010"&#41;;

          fo.addVariable&#40;"useReloadButton", "false"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"showFlipButton", "true"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"showLinkButton", "false"&#41;;

          fo.addVariable&#40;"enableSounds","false"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"columns", "3"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"rows", "2"&#41;;

          fo.addVariable&#40;"tiltAmountIn","30"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"tiltAmountOut","60"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"frameWidth","20"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"zoomedOutDistance","4000"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"zoomedInDistance","900"&#41;;

          fo.addVariable&#40;"bkgndInnerColor", "0x222222"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"bkgndOuterColor", "0x000000"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"frameColor", "0xFFFFFF"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"navButtonColor", "0xFFFFFF"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"backColor", "0x000000"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"textColor", "0xFFFFFF"&#41;;

          fo.addVariable&#40;"linkLabel", "Vis bildeinformasjon"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"langGoFull", "Start fullskjermmodus"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"langExitFull", "Avslutt fullskjermmodus"&#41;;
          fo.addVariable&#40;"langAbout", "Informasjon"&#41;;
          // END TILTVIEWER CONFIGURATION OPTIONS

          fo.addParam&#40;"allowFullScreen","true"&#41;;
          fo.write&#40;"flashcontent"&#41;;
        </script>

      </div>

The XML gallery file is not the problem, as it works in IE.

As you can see, I've translated some parts to Norwegian, and changed some other variable as well - however, that does actually not work too well. The most serious thing, however, is that is displays the reload button and not the arrow buttons which should be there. The gallery consists of 6+5 images, 6 for the first page and 5 for the second. It sorta works, but when I click the reload button I get to the second page, with no way back.

It seems I can change the colors, zoom distances and rows/cols without problems, but I can't change the frame size, disable the sounds or change the right-click menu labels.

I said above that the "black nothing" is not necessarily black. By changing

var fo = new SWFObject&#40;"TiltViewer swf", "viewer", "800", "555", "9.0.28", "#000000"&#41;;

at the start to, say,

var fo = new SWFObject&#40;"TiltViewer swf", "viewer", "800", "555", "9.0.28", "#FF0000"&#41;;

the color changes to red.

I suppose I'm doing something very basic wrong, I don't have much experience with using Flash.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Best regards,
GardG

It's not online, I don't have a host yet. I can try to find a place if it's essential, though.
