Topic: Having multiple issues

Hello this is my first post here and hence im a huge noob at this
i'm having multiple issues regarding the customization and the overall maintenance of my simpleviewer

here's my website
www ruiferreiart com

go to the gallery to look at it

on firefox it seems to be working fine but on IE the images are cut by half

also
the coding seems to be stubborn because i try to customize the font color, the display and gallery space and the thickness of the frames on the images and it stays the same
also
everytime i try to edit something i end up breaking something else and im about to quit even trying to making this work but its the only way to save some of my works from being ripped off

thanks in advance for the help wink

Re: Having multiple issues

Tried to go to the site and it's not coming up. Are you using the simpleviewer or simpleviewer pro? Try clearing your browers cache and refreshing the page after making a change. try changing the "100%" width and hight in the html line: var fo = new SWFObject("viewer.swf", "viewer", "100%", "100%", "8", "#181818"); to a fixed pixel hight like 600 and 480.

Other then that without seeing the site it's hard to tell what the problem is try looking at the links below and checking the URL you provided to make sure it's up.

Re: Having multiple issues

Ahh you left out an 'r' in the URL in the first post. smile

Try changing the code below to 100% or removing it altogether.

#flashcontent {
        height: 200%;

Re: Having multiple issues

The images are being cut in half because of this line:

<center style="margin-top&#58; 0px; height&#58; 300px;"><center>

The height is defined as 300px and you are trying to display your gallery with a height of 615px.
Delete:

<center style="margin-top&#58; 0px; height&#58; 300px;">

and the gallery should no longer be truncated.
However, I think this is just the tip of an iceberg of coding problems.
Neither of your <center> tags are closed and <center> tags are not allowed in XHTML 1.0 Strict (the DOCTYPE you are using) anyway.
You also seem to have cut and pasted an entire HTML document onto the foot of another resulting in two <head> sections, two <body> sections etc on the same page.  Merge both <head> sections into the <head> of the first section and delete the <body> tags from the second section.
There is also a JavaScript reference looking for a file on your hard drive (which will not work when uploaded to a server).
In XHTML, all tags should be closed (eg <br /> rather than <br>).
All pixel values should have 'px' after them.
Try validating your page at http://validator.w3.org/ and it'll give you a detailed result of problems.
Don't be disheartened, though!  Your web site looks good and although there are several issues needing ironed out, having had a look at your gallery.htm file, I don't think it's a huge task!
Hope this points you in the right direction.

Re: Having multiple issues

I've reworked your gallery.htm file.
From 64 errors and 1 warning (and 3 CSS errors) down to 4 errors (and no CSS errors).
The remaining 4 errors all refer to your dynamic animation JavaScript (mainly adding proprietary attributes to tags) which I know nothing about as it resides on your hard drive.
However, I've put a reference to it in the new gallery.htm file so all you need to do is upload your animate.js file to your root folder, ie. www.ruiferreirart.com/animate.js
The new gallery.htm file can be found at:
