Topic: republishing autoviewer doesn't work

So I've made changes to my options.as file, so that no numbers are displayed on my photos. But republishing doesn't work. I uploaded all of my files initially with Adobe Lightroom (with autoviewer Pro installed to replace the regular autoviewer engine), and I downloaded the trial of Adobe Flash CS4. I use my ftp program to grab the autoviewer.fla from the source directory, and I open it in Flash CS4, and clicking "publish" sends it out, but the bottom of the flash window read "compiler errors - 1 reported".

I head into Publish Settings under File, and publish it through there. Then, I just upload the new file to my root directory... but none of the changes i've made have taken any effect.

The website I have currently is roomonfire.ca, any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

if you are seeing a compile error when you publish the SWF, this means the new SWF is not generated. What error are you seeing?

Re: republishing autoviewer doesn't work

The class or interface "StageManager" could not be loaded.

am I doing everything up until this point correctly?

What I'm doing now is just downloading the autoviewer file off of my server, throwing it on my desktop, opening it in flash, and "publishing" it to the desktop, where I just upload it to the server, where my index.html and other files are, where it overwrites the previous autoviewer.

that is the error I get when I just open the autoviewer.fla and try to publish it. To get around this I go into the "publish settings" and select the desktop as my output, and use the "publish" button from inside of that menu.

This publishes a .swf file to my desktop, but I'm given that error, the The class or interface "StageManager" could not be loaded on the very bottom.

There's a picture of it. Sorry, there isn't any image viewing in this forum. Thanks for your reply.

Re: republishing autoviewer doesn't work

Hi,

you need the entire 'autoviewer_pro' folder on your local machine to publish. This is the folder that you download and unzip after purchasing. To create your new SWF, check the manual for details: http://www.simpleviewer.net/autoviewer/ … html#repub

Re: republishing autoviewer doesn't work

I'm still not getting any changes. I made sure I had edited the options.as file in the source file where my website is hosted, and I have certain settings turned off... like images displaying numbers. But when I grabbed the entire source folder and put it on my desktop, I open the autoviewer.fla file in Flash, go straight into File>Publish and I still get the "Destination directory could not be found error" again. This is incredibly frustrating.

edit: I upload the new autoviewer.swf, the published one, but I'm not seeing any of the changes I've made to options.as.

Re: republishing autoviewer doesn't work

OK, my mistake. You need the entire 'autoviewer_pro' folder on your local machine to do a flash publish. Only the published SWF needs to be on your webserver.

To create a customized SWF using the AS options, the work-flow is:
1) Edit the option.as file on your local machine.
2) Publish your SWF on your local machine.
3) Upload your new SWF (created in the 'autoviewer_pro/web') folder to your webserver.

Check the docs for more details: http://www.simpleviewer.net/autoviewer/ … #asoptions

Re: republishing autoviewer doesn't work

Sorry to keep bothering you, but does lightroom handle anything differently? When I log into my website through my ftp, I can see both a viewer.swf and an autoviewer.swf.

I followed you directions that time, I was kind of stupid before.

What I have done, from start to finish, is this:

I downloaded the autoviewer_pro zip file. I created a copy of the autoviewer.SWF file, and renamed the copy viewer.swf. I brought it to the lightroom shared engines folder for autoviewer and replaced the previous viewer.SWF file. I re-opened Lightroom 2.4 and connected to my host, and uploaded my gallery FROM lightroom. Everything was fine, but I didn't want numbers/the play button on the bottom, so I then:

-Unzipped the autoviewer-pro zip file onto my desktop. I went into options.as, and changed the settings I wanted (changing show numbers to false, for example), then after making these changes I opened the autoviewer.FLA in Flash and published it, with no problems at all. I then,

-took the autoviewer.SWF file created in the WEB folder, and uploaded it onto my host with my FTP program, overwriting the original file. I then just navigate to roomonfire.ca to find... nothing has changed, still. Should I just delete everything and start from scratch, ignoring lightroom? I am sorry to keep bothering you.

Re: republishing autoviewer doesn't work

To use a customized swf with a lightroom generated gallery, you need to rename the new SWF 'viewer.swf' then copy it into your gallery folder. Check here for details: http://www.simpleviewer.net/autoviewer/ … #lightroom

Re: republishing autoviewer doesn't work

And, i'm sorry to sound like a complete idiot, but I want to have my bases covered: the "gallery" folder that is constantly referred to is just, wherever your index.html and autoviewer.swf files are? For example, I just threw all of the files onto my ftp, so there's the index.html and autoviewer.swf, then the source folders, etc, there.

Re: republishing autoviewer doesn't work

IT WORKS!
Thanks for putting up with me.
