I'm having the exact same issue
Did you find a fix for this?

Hi,

I'm not sure what that message is referring to but it's not related to SimpleViewer. Do you have any other plugins running on that page?

Re: this website wants to run the following add-on: msxml 3.0 sp11

I have no other plugins running on that page.
And it does seem to be related to the basic embeding method of the plugin.
To reproduce, take one of the sample html files provided with the pro version. For example I used the simpleviewer_pro_202\web\index.html file.
Remove the <script></script> stuff and the tags in the body. Copy the 'basic' embedding provided by svBuilder into the body.
Open in IE8.

it will show you the message. and the problem

Re: this website wants to run the following add-on: msxml 3.0 sp11

I'm having same issue with IE7 and IE 8

Re: this website wants to run the following add-on: msxml 3.0 sp11

Hi,

I'm not able to replicate the message here for this url: http://www.seizethephoto.com/bridal.php

Tested on Vista and XP with IE 6,7,8.

Does the message show when you go to this page: http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewe … es/modern/ ?

If not I would guess there is something else in the HTML page that is causing the problem.

How are you creating your galleries? Can you provide other URLs that show the message?

thanks.

Re: this website wants to run the following add-on: msxml 3.0 sp11

As I stated above, this problem occurs when modifying and using the stripped down sample html pages provided with the pro package (which have absolutely nothing else running on them).

An example site where I'm getting this issue is here:
http://www.tayjophotography.ca/galleries/16-graduation

I'm not able to replicate the message here for this url: http://www.seizethephoto.com/bridal.php

Tested on Vista and XP with IE 6,7,8.

Does the message show when you go to this page: http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewe … es/modern/ ?

Both the sites you've provided are not using the basic embedding method and work correctly.

Re: this website wants to run the following add-on: msxml 3.0 sp11

I'm getting the same problem. I'm working on a new site for a customer. Everything works great unless you're using Internet Explorer 7 or 8. It tells you to download MSXML (I use a Mac so I can't remember exactly what the statement was). Then when you click OK, an window that looks like a paragraph form box occupies the space that the SWF should be sitting in.

http://www.arlettelaanphotography.com/n … capes.html is the page with the embedded Simpleviewer.

The actual Simpleviewer HTML page is http://www.arlettelaanphotography.com/n … index.html

I'm using the embedded code provided by the svBuilder.

Everything works great on the Mac (all the main browsers), and on Windows Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc.

But no Internet Explorer.

Since I have a studio in a huge mill complex with over 143 studios and 200+ artists, I walked around and checked in on about 10 people who were around, and who were using laptops and computers in their studios. Everybody using IE 7 and 8 had this problem. All other browsers didn't have the problem.

I've also submitted the link to browsershots.org and this problem manifests mainly in the IE screenshots. This is a pretty big concern now because I really wanted to use Simpleviewer Pro, but now it seems it doesn't work for 50+% of the people out there who use IE.

Re: this website wants to run the following add-on: msxml 3.0 sp11

I can replicate the issue with that URL - thanks.

Seems like this is a caused by IE not liking the basic embed code for some reason. What is odd is that the basic embed code on it's own works fine (try uploading the basic_embed.html example). I'll look into this ASAP.

In the mean-time, the workaround is to use the javascript embed code instead.

Hi Felix, I know your response wasn't to my post, however just an FYI... I'm using the javascript embed code and I'm getting the same problems as everyone else.

This page is using the basic embed and shows the problem: http://www.arlettelaanphotography.com/n … capes.html

This page uses the JS embed and works fine: http://www.arlettelaanphotography.com/n … index.html

Re: this website wants to run the following add-on: msxml 3.0 sp11

Hey there.

I'm writing because i have the same problem - when using basic embed "method" in IE it just shows the MSXML3.0SP11 download bar and nothing happens, except a blank "box" with width and height the same as the SimpleViewer gallery should be.

Neither the javascript embed "method" is not working for me, because i'm loading the content through jQuery (AJAX), and so javascript-embedded SimpleViewer is simply not working.

Waiting for your solution.

Thanks and best regards,
Nejc

i'm loading the content through jQuery (AJAX), and so javascript-embedded SimpleViewer is simply not working.

I don't know the specifics of your setup, but in theory there is no reason why the JS embed should not work with AJAX.

Re: this website wants to run the following add-on: msxml 3.0 sp11

I tracked down this issue to passing in flashvars via the SWF URL. The basic embed snippet generated by svBuilder will show this issue in IE. The next version of SimpleViewer-Pro will fix this.

To fix existing basic embed code for IE, remove this text twice from the embed tag

?galleryURL=gallery.xml

So replace this:

<!-- SIMPLEVIEWER BASIC EMBED. Paste this into the body of the HTML page where you want the gallery to appear-->
<object width="100%" height="100%"><param name="movie" value="simpleviewer.swf?galleryURL=gallery.xml">
</param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always">
</param><param name="bgcolor" value="222222"></param>
<embed src="simpleviewer.swf?galleryURL=gallery.xml" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="100%" height="100%"
bgcolor="222222"></embed></object>

with this:

<!-- SIMPLEVIEWER BASIC EMBED. Paste this into the body of the HTML page where you want the gallery to appear-->
<object width="100%" height="100%"><param name="movie" value="simpleviewer.swf">
</param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always">
</param><param name="bgcolor" value="222222"></param>
<embed src="simpleviewer.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="100%" height="100%"
bgcolor="222222"></embed></object>

If you need to pass in the 'galleryURL' or other flashvars to the basic embed tag, use this syntax instead:

<!-- SIMPLEVIEWER BASIC EMBED. Paste this into the body of the HTML page where you want the gallery to appear-->
<object width="100%" height="100%"><param name="movie" value="simpleviewer.swf"></param>
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always">
</param><param name="bgcolor" value="222222"></param>
<param name=flashvars value="galleryURL=gallery.xml">
<embed src="simpleviewer.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always"
allowfullscreen="true" width="100%" height="100%" bgcolor="222222"
flashvars="galleryURL=gallery.xml"></embed></object>

Re: this website wants to run the following add-on: msxml 3.0 sp11

SimpleViewer-Pro v2.0.3 now generates the correct basic embed code to avoid this issue.
