Topic: JQuery Tabs display twice in IE 8

Saw some problems with JQuery Tabs but I can't find a solution.
I have 2 simpleviewers and the content is loaded into tab1 and tab2
In Firefox+Chrome this works fine.
See  http://lewis.eduh.nl/tmp/index1.html
Every viewer is loaded in the correct tab and displayed only once.
However in IE 8 (or perhaps other versions as well)  the content is loaded in every tab which I don't want.

BTW: if I use the tiltviewer the problem does not occur

Re: JQuery Tabs display twice in IE 8

The javascript code should be inside your <head> tags and technically you don't need the test div as you are using jplayerone and jplayertwo instead.

<script type="text/javascript">
        var flashvars1 = {};
        flashvars1.galleryURL =  "gallery.xml";
        var params1 = {};
        params1.allowfullscreen = "true";
        params1.allowscriptaccess = "always";
        params1.bgcolor = "FFFFFF)";
        swfobject.embedSWF("simpleviewer.swf", "jplayerone", "850", "750", "9.0.124", false, flashvars1, params1);
    </script>

    <script type="text/javascript">
        var flashvars3 = {};
        flashvars3.galleryURL =  "gallery11.xml";
        var params3 = {};
        params3.allowfullscreen = "true";
        params3.allowscriptaccess = "always";
        params3.bgcolor = "FFFFFF";
        swfobject.embedSWF("simpleviewer.swf", "jplayertwo", "850", "650", "9.0.124", false, flashvars3, params3);
    </script>

Re: JQuery Tabs display twice in IE 8

Thanks for the quick response but unfortunately it makes no difference at all.
With the corrected  code player1+2  still displays in every jquery tab.

Re: JQuery Tabs display twice in IE 8

To me it really sounds like it might be a JQuery/SWFObject issue... TiltViewer uses SWFObject 1.5 where SimpleViewer 2 uses version 2.2. I might try SimpleViere 1.9 which also uses SWFObject 1.5 or googling to see if there are issues between SWFObject 2.2 and JQuery Tabs.

Re: JQuery Tabs display twice in IE 8

Hi,

Thanks for the great hint. I did try the simpleviewer 1.9 and it's working without a problem.
See http://lewis.eduh.nl/tmp19/index1.html
It seems the swfobject code doesn't have to be in the head but can be run anywhere in the page.

Is there a way to instantiate the simpleviewer 2.0 in the same way as v.19 ?
Something like
var fo = new SWFObject("simpleviewer.swf", .............);
fo.write("myTarget");

Re: JQuery Tabs display twice in IE 8

SWFObject 2.2 is the supported version for SimpleViewer 2 I would suggest that it may be better to see if the JQuery Tabs can be fixed. If you want to try SimpleViewer 2 with SWFObject  1.5 you can use the code below in your body, don't for get to change the SWFObject  include line to use version 1.5.

<script type="text/javascript">

    var fo = new SWFObject("simpleviewer.swf", "viewer", "850", "750", "9.0.124");

    fo.addVariable("xmlDataPath", "gallery.xml");
    fo.addParam("allowFullScreen","true");
    fo.addParam("allowscriptaccess","always");

    fo.addParam("bgcolor","FFFFFF");
    fo.write("jplayerone");

</script>
