Topic: Caption hyperlink issue

Hi  big_smile

I'm working on a website, and im having a small problem, if you go to http://www.davidarcila.com/ and click on portfolio, that opens Autoviewer and as you can see, the first image has captions with a link that succesfully redirects to another website, but then i tried to do the same for other images and as you can see, in the second and third image, the caption appears, but the hyperlink is disabled.

Link to the XML is this: http://www.davidarcila.com/gallerydata.xml

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Any help is deeply appreciated

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

Have you tried it without the rel="shadowbox;height=345;width=641" target="_blank"? <a href="http://www.davidarcila.com/videos/reciclar.html" >Here</a>

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

Miker, i tried as you said, and it didn't worked.

I might be wrong, but i have the feeling that it has to do with the "previous" and "next" arrows, as you can see in the first image of the gallery, there is no "Previous" arrow, and the link works, but in the others, the arrows are at both sides somehow "overlapping" the hyperlink

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

That is funky...   You could try adding captionPadding, the default value is 20. Did you change the fla/as at all?

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

I checked the Options.as and it has the captionPadding value at 20, i did modify the fla but just to remove the square border of the arrow buttons and leave them with round borders following the instructions in here http://www.simpleviewer.net/autoviewer/ … ml#library

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

Hmm sounds like it could be an issue with how you changed the arrows. I would try the gallery with an unedited version of the swf and see if that fixes it. If it does you will have to fined a different way to accomplish the change you made to the arrows.

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

Hey Miker, i set this value to false in the options.as

static var enableArrowButtons:Boolean = false; //Sets whether to enable the Next/Back Buttons

and now the hyperlinks work as spected, but to get to the next image i can no longer use the mouse, im forced to use left and right arrow keys.

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

Yeah that's what I guessed would happen. It sounds like when you edited that arrow buttons in the FLA you may have somehow changed the hit area size. I would try making that change again maybe in a different way.

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

Miker, i did what you told me, i used a backup of the .fla and published the .swf without touching anything else, and i still have the problem, you can check http://www.davidarcila.com/ to see the untouched gallery.

I took a screenshot of flash http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/9232/80701532.gif i noticed that "ButtonBack" and "ButtonNext" have a layer that has a big transparent square (I think)

I'm not experienced with flash, but the problem might come from there.

Thank You

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

The transparent square are the hit area, they give you a larger area to click instead of just the button graphic. They may be overlapping your caption somehow. Something that you changed is effecting this, if you look at the example here the links work fine. I would go back to the default gallery can make the changes you have made one at a time and try to figure out which one is causing the issue.

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

Hmm, now i understand a bit better. I did a test and used the viewer.swf from the autoviewer free version and it worked perfectly.

The original autoviewer.fla file i have, when published presents the issue even if publish without changing anything.

Maybe, there's something wrong in the publish settings?

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

Only thing I think that could be wrong with the publish settings is that you are publishing it to a different folder then your are expecting. Sometimes this happens... if that isn't the issue I would try using your download link to download a fresh version of Autoviewer Pro.

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

ouh, i now have pinpointed the exact problem, is the "dummy" layer in the "ButtonBack" and "ButtonNext" as you can see here:

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/1376/74245795.gif

I changed the alpha to 100% and now if you go to www.davidarcila.com and then click on portfolio, you can see that same dummy is above everything else...i'm going to try and change it's size in flash.

Re: Caption hyperlink issue

Yeah somehow the hit area size got changed. Are you sure you didn't make any changes to the AS file that would have affected the size?
