Upgrading from SimpleViewer v1.9

Why Upgrade?

SimpleViewer v2.0 has many great new features including 3 new gallery styles, Flickr integration, Fullscreen mode and international language handling.

Upgrading 1.9 Galleries to 2.0

It's easy to upgrade your existing SimpleViewer galleries to v2. The original options, images and captions will be preserved.

To upgrade your gallery, follow these steps:

  1. Make a copy of your v1.9 gallery folder.
  2. Download and unzip SimpleViewer v2 to your desktop.
  3. Copy web/simpleviewer.swf from the v2 download into your gallery folder.
  4. Edit index.html in your gallery folder using a text or HTML editor:
    • Change viewer.swf to simpleviewer.swf
    • add fo.addParam("allowFullScreen","true");
    • add fo.addParam("allowScriptAccess","always");
  5. (Optional) Increase thumbnail images from 65x65 px to 75x75 px. SimpleViewer will scale up smaller JPGs, but some sharpness will be lost. To get the maximum thumbnail image quality, thumbnails should be recreated at 75x75 pixels.
