I have everything working fine when all files are within one directory but not when I try place the "calling" index file from outside the directory where the xml and swf files are.
For example:
This is part of the code that sits in the calling index.htm file

    <script type="text/javascript">
        var fo = new SWFObject("../viewer_deli/viewer.swf", "../viewer_deli/viewer", "100%", "100%", "8", "#FFFF99" );
    fo.addVariable("xmlURL", "../viewer_deli/gallery.xml");

    </script>

However if I move this index file outside of the directory where the xml and swf file are, postcardviewer will not work. Note I have the xml and viewer.swf pointed to the correct directory so it should work?
(the reason I need to do this is because I have multiple postcardviewers within one application and I have therefore placed them all in separate directories. For other reasons I would prefer to put the index files calling each viewer in the top directory of the website. I am using lightroom 2 to generate swf
Thanks

Monkeyboy, yes "fo.addParam("wmode", "transparent");" should work in most siutations using I. Explorer but it  will not work in Firefox which has a growing share of the browser market. Does anyone have a soluion/work around for Firefox?

Hi I am having the same issue with Firefox (PC). Did you manage to solve the issue?
Thanks

I am using Lightroom/dreamweaver to build. Everything works fine until I try to view on local webserver. I am using XAMPP which is software that runs Apache server on a windows machine for testing before you publish to remote ISP. Now when I double click "viewer dot swf" in the root of the server (where all the other files are), flash player 9 loads and simple viewer runs fine. But when I follow insturctions in troubleshooting for "insert SimpleViewer into a pre-existing HTML page" (index.html)  I get X's for all the images. If I right click the X for the large image and open in new window I see the path as "localhost/images/images/CIMG1820 dot jpg". All the large images are in /images and remember it works when I click viewer dot swf directly!!.  OK so I can fix the large image by moving them into the images/images but I cannot see where to put the thumbnails. I am not sure why dreamweaver is asking for /images/images/ directory when all the images are in /images.
Confused.
Thanks
Richard
