Does anyone know how to fix this?  Is it not possible to embed Simpleviewer in a column?

Is there any other way to do it?  If I change the size of the embedded viewer to pixels or em then the viewer goes outside of the column.  If I decrease the size to the constraints of the column, then the image shrinks considerably.

My gallery is working properly in Google Chrome but not in Firefox or Explorer.  The main image appears VERY tiny in these browsers, but is appropriately sized in Google Chrome.  Please tell me my mistake.  The XML file is below.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<simpleviewergallery maxImageWidth="500" maxImageHeight="500" textColor="333333" frameColor="0x555555" frameWidth="0" stagePadding="40" navPadding="40" thumbnailColumns="5" thumbnailRows="1" navPosition="bottom" vAlign="center" hAlign="center" title="" enableRightClickOpen="false" backgroundImagePath="" imagePath="photos/images/" thumbPath="photos/thumbs/">

It actually works in the index.html file but not in the gallery2.html file that I inserted it into...

I'm wondering if it's not an issue with the gallery.xml file and instead an issue with the transparency.  The .html page includes the code for transparency, but the background color "#ffffff" is what is coming up now.

Yes I checked that I feel like i have followed it correctly.  Still not working.

Neither worked...

Instead of my desired background image, I am getting a green background in the gallery.  I adjusted the index.html file with the following line:

var params={};
        params.wmode="transparent";

And I added the image to the gallery.xml file:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<simpleviewergallery maxImageWidth="500" maxImageHeight="700" textColor="333333" frameColor="ffffff" frameWidth="5" stagePadding="40" navPadding="40" thumbnailColumns="6" thumbnailRows="1" navPosition="bottom" vAlign="center" hAlign="center" title="" enableRightClickOpen="false" backgroundImagePath="artgallery/gallery.jpg" imagePath="" thumbPath="">

What silly little thing am I missing?

Did you change it in the gallery.xml file?

They should put you on as a moderator. : )

you're fantastic : )

Thank you. : )  Is there a way to embed a small version of the postcard viewer into the html page?

I cleared my cache, but I don't see that it has worked. : (  Do you think there is a problem with the folders?

(8 replies, posted in SimpleViewer v1)

That didn't fix it.  The gallery.xml file is in a file called portraits that included the images and thumbs files.  With the new image and thumb path, the viewer no longer works locally.

www.thepersianphotographer.com/portraits works

but www.thepersianphotographer.com/portraits.html is not working.

It is embedded in the html file improperly.

Can someone check this code for me?  I can't get the postcard viewer to display. : (

Can someone check this code for me?  Locally, my viewer displays everything beautifully, but I get X's for the images and thumbs on the site.  The images and such are in a file called portraits and all this is in a subdirectory that the domain is pointed to.

You're fantastic!  Thank you so much!  It's crazy... I kept staring at it and just could not figure out the issue with the path for my life.

Okay.  I fixed the problem with the scrollbar, but now the images in both my galleries will not display!  I have little "x" signs where the image should be and my thumbnails are faded.  I checked the paths of my images and they appear fine.  They are saved for the web as non-progressive jpegs.  The names are spelled as they should be... I can't think of what the problem could be.  Please help.

The problem is on the gallery and photoediting pages.

Thanks...

Hi,
I'm playing around with putting the thumbnails on the bottom, which I did successfully.  I only wanted 6 to show at a time and when you place the cursor at the end of the bar, the bar does indeed scroll.   However, I would like there to be a visual arrow or scrollbar in some way to indicate to the viewer that there are more thumbnails.  Is that possible?  Also, is there a way to put in a code for autoplay?  Below is my XML file.

THANKS!!

That didn't seem to work either.  I've double checked everything.  Not sure what else there is to change.

Thanks for the quick response, Mike.  I tried that and now it seems to be displaying the correct viewer, but the images are not showing up.  My code for the gallery.xml file is as follows:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<simpleviewergallery maxImageWidth="480" maxImageHeight="480" textColor="333333"
frameColor="0xFFFFFF" frameWidth="20" stagePadding="40" navPadding="40"
thumbnailColumns="2" thumbnailRows="6" navPosition="left" vAlign="center"
hAlign="center" title="Before & After" enableRightClickOpen="false"
backgroundImagePath="" imagePath="/photoediting/images" thumbPath="/photoediting/thumbs">

Any ideas?

I use the standard SimpleViewer and I very much need help with getting multiple galleries on my webpage.  I believe the problem lies in an incorrect path.

One gallery is working fine because it is in the same folder as the page it appears on.  I created a folder called “photoediting” for the second gallery and left the name of the SWFobject, viewer, and xml file unchanged.  In the script, I was careful to change the path of the SWFobject to come from the photoediting folder.  But the second gallery is just showing a duplicate of my first gallery. : (

url= www.rachelraynes.com

1st gallery= “gallery” page
2nd gallery=”photoediting” page

Please help.  Also, before answering my question, keep in mind that I taught myself all this stuff with dreamweaver like 2 weeks ago.  Definitely a newbie.
