Great. Thanks for your reply. Simple! I was looking through all the settings in the software and couldn't find anything. Didn't think to look up there.  :/

Hi. I add batches of photos weekly for a pub i do the site for. We have quite a lot now. I'd like to know if it is possible to add the batches at the start of the slideshow instead of the new pics adding on the end. we find that the customers want to see their images but are having to trawl through many many thumbs to get to the most recent and we don't actually want to remove any yet.

thanks

Hello. I use Fasthosts for my FTP. I use Adobe Muse for my site builder. Fasthosts asks me to upload to the htdocs folder. There is am index.html file already there which is created by Adobe Muse. I use Filezilla to move the Simpleviewer file onto my FTP htdocs folder and am asked if I want to replace my index.html file. My site (www.the-acres.co.uk) is now showing errors. Am I uploading correctly? And, if not, where should I be saving the Simpleviewer files? I need it to be a simple process as i need other (inexperienced) users to update things. I'm not that experienced myself either

Steve

I'm getting there - see it at www.SteveBurrowsImages.com

On my homepage I have a slideshow with only nav left and right buttons (other slideshows have those options on other pages). Is there a way that the auto play can re-start again? If someone presses a button it seems to stop the slideshow. I could put a button on the page to play the slideshow but I wanted to keep it clean. It would be good to have an option that re-started the slideshow after say 10 seconds (adjustable) if there have been no further clicks.

What do you think?

oh - you're good!

thanks for the quick response

just found another thread in the forum that was talking about the fact that they have to be public.

I'll have a go with that

thanks

Hi
I have a question I am struggling to find an answer for.

I have my SV linked to flickr - I guess that I am going to have to create a "flickr set" specific to the images I want to include. Does this  have to be a public set? Lets say I have a set named "Portraits" with 200 images in. But I want to do a separate shortlisted SV slideshow for say 20. Will I have to create a separate "set" for the shortlisted 20 images that also appear in the "Portraits" set? By this I mean, If someone went to my flickr site would they see this set containing the 20 images and another set containing those images again along with the other 180? If I make the shortlisted set "not viewable", will it still appear on my website in the SV slideshow?

I think thats clear...

Is it possible to change the thumbnail size if I am using flickr linked images?

mine is linked to flickr - it took me a while there to work out what you meant. if i choose "local" i have the option to choose the thumbnails size there. However, if I choose Flickr, I don't see the option

Hi

I don't see those options on my version. I purchased the Pro version 26th Sept 2011.

When I check "About" it tells me svBuilder-Pro. Pro-version v2.2.0

Hi
I have looked through your forums but can't find this one.

Is it possible to change the size of the thumbnails? I want to make them smaller. I can see how to change the border, loading bar etc but not how to change the actual thumb size.

Thanks

Steve

Thanks

I looked at the index.html file and i can see a couple of entries in relation to statcounter. What do I do? Do I just delete it? If I do, will the software that put it there try to put it back every time I use svBuilder?

Also, I looked for the maximageheight & maximagewidth lines in the gallery.xml file and can't see them there at all. I read your link and I think it is saying (and also you are saying) to add the lines in. Is this the case? Again, every time I use svBuilder, will it try to replace the file with a file that does not contain these lines?

The example gallery.xml file on the link looks nothing at all like my version at all.

Just noticed another point.

The Page that opens when clicking on the link (this is now the "gallery" button over on the right) seems to have a narrow white border round it. Can I get rid of this? And, can I make the images slightly smaller? The images load just slightly too large now.

i think i follow you. just create a hyper link to it and turn the background back on. also, get rid of the iweb page? i need this in newbie language i'm afraid.

it's url is a bit long winded and un-pretty as well. can this be changed?

I now have it looking as I want. No banner, just grey. I did this by making the wallpaper and background the same colour in iWeb. I then made the svBuilder background transparrent in Customize / Embed Options. It appears all as I want it to on my iMac. In svBuilder I had changed the gallery width and height to 1000. Previoously they were both 100%. However, on my MacBook the page is too big and you have to scroll up and down. I want it to scale for the size of the screen the viewer is using really. Is there a way to do that?

The viewer on my iPhone shows it fine if held upright, but not if held sideways (landscape). Any ideas?

But... No Back button and no navigation buttons along the top at all (not on either of my Mac's). If you click and drag across the screen (as if highlighting multiple items), there are two blocks overlapping each other. The only way I can explain this is that the nav bar is behind something and can't be clicked. Does that make sense?

Hi - thanks for the quick response

1) I have reset Safari and my buttons don't work. I restarted the Mac as well - still no joy.
2) I'm going to dump the banner and have it appear as it does in svBuilder I think - Nice and big. How do I do that?
3) I'm confused about this - I'm changing things now

Hello

I have decided to go with SimpleViewer on my website and paid for SV Pro last night. You helped me a while ago when I was trying to set up Tiltviewer which is currently in use on me site. Thanks for that.

My Site is www.steveburrowsimages.com

If you look on the Portraits page I have set up a test button. This takes you to a separate new page I have set up for this. This doesn't seem to behave the way I expect it to. The buttons along the top are not working and it does not fit on the screen the way I want it to. I use iWeb to design my site. I had created a Blank page but kept the banner along the top. I wanted SV to fill the rest of the screen like your examples but keep the banner showing. Also, it does not work on my iPhone. It loads up but the images are too big and there are no thumbnails and again the buttons don't work.

In svBuilder, on the Publish tab, I clicked to save the index.html file and directed it into the folder for the "portraits viewer" folder. I then uploaded this to my ftp file. I then copied the Embed code into a snippet on the page I had created.

As you may be able to tell I am a novice when it comes to this, so please use simple language in your response.

Thanks,

Steve

I think I have sorted it now.

I have decided to go for a link button which takes you to a new window rather than it being embedded in a page.

I worked out what you were saying eventually. i noticed that in my public folder "public.html" there were a bunch of folders and these all had the same names as my web pages, so i did a new install of tiltviewer which created a new folder called tiltviewer with all the files inside. i then uploaded this to the same level as all of the other folders. i tested it by entering the url http://www.steveburrowsimages.com/tiltviewer and hey presto! - it appeared. so then i created a button on the weddings page and did a hyperlink from this to an external web page and entered this url. I just have to put all the other text in now. Have a look at the weddings page and click the link. forget about the weddings gallery button at the bottom - i will get this to do the same as the other button instead.

i am going to do the same for my portraits page and other pages too. however, i will name these folders tiltviewer2, tiltviewer3 and so on and have links from a button on the respective pages.

Did I do correctly? Did I explain myself clearly?

Thanks for your help

Please let me know if you think i could do it in a better way

i have followed instructions that help reduce the length of url's and that includes saving straight to the root folder (as i understand it).

i think you are right, i did upload the contents to the public.html folder which i think means the root folder. so where should i upload it to? are you saying that the folder that is created (named tiltviewer if i remember) should be uploaded to the root folder?

i don't understand what your further post means regarding missing files as i don't know how to get them again and then, where to put them

well, of a sort. however, it replaced my welcome page with the gallery. I had to speak to my web hosting company as its a mess. got my home page back now. apparently (and please bear in mind that i know very little), it was because it had been named index.html and had replaced the index file in my root folder. the file that pointed to the home page.

i have had to undo this with their help. i also had to do a lot of other clearing up. If you take a look at my site, i have created a page (the link is in the weddings page and also at the bottom in green). I don't know whether to have it there or in a separate window. Please look at all of my points and give me your thoughts.

I am back to square one since having to get rid of it.

just had a thought - where its looking for tags on my flickr site i have entered "wedding examples" i am looking at the text and wondered if I should enter "wedding_examples" or "wedding, examples". on flickr it says that if you want more than one word in a tag then enter it in double quotes ie "two words"

Did as you said. Copied my code back into "textwrangler" on the mac (copied and pasted it there). I know that there are a lot of settings you can choose but i have left textwrangler as is.

uploaded it

still nothing
