Topic: Thumbnails only show white x's

I can only see white x's for my thumbnails.

I assume it is to do with the features my internet supports as local testing works

I am on shaw here is what my services include/not include

    * Server-side scripting, such as Perl, PHP, Python, and ASP
    * Databases
    * Streaming audio/video
    * Shell accounts
    * SSL

I am rebuilding the website for www.secondgearclub.com and would like to have these galleries going asap.

However the weird and stupid and annoying thing is

i JUST downloaded a fresh copy of the simple view. placed it here, http://www.members.shaw.ca/kanadianice/simpleviewer/

I added the photos to thumbs/images, and then added them in the XML. and that one works?

however when i copy and paste everything onto the FTP, the exact one i put on the kanadianice account to the mitchellrocksystems account, the mitchell one will not work??

thx for checking i think i figured it out

i just need to add galleries @ the top for different disiplines of riding & year.


im new to HTML and web design, to customize the links, fonts/colours and everything do you just use like notepad?

Hi Mitch,
Yes you can use notepad. Textpad is better ( trial is free, I think). Or jump right in and use Dreamweaver.
See FAQ for adding gallery linking to new pages.
Nice photos btw. What lens are you using for the aerial stuff?

I dont know what the problem is, i copied over the original files from the simpleview ZIP. and then edited the IMG paths, and i am getting these damn boxes again!

Are you sure your paths are correct?
Your thumbs and images are on the server, in their correct folders. In your "images" folder, you have a .db filoe ( database ) generated by your photo resizer. Take that out and see what happens?

problem solved.


my thumbs for some reason were 1.jpg not 1.JPG

friggin case sensitivity!

thats done, now i just have to go threw and make my menus!
