Topic: Only half the images loading

Odd thing happening,  only the last 7 images of all the four galleries on my site are loading (there should be 16 images per gallery). If I open the index.html in the Simpleviewer gallery folder directly into a browser all the images load perfectly.

Same for the other 3 galleries.

I've uploaded the site (and the simpleviewer galleries files referenced) to two different servers and I get the same problem on both.

I've tried remaking the galleries again, via the PS scripts, and then modifying in svBuilder, but the problem remains.

Any ideas?  (Mac OS 10.6.4)

The image file names do not match the file names listed in the gallery.xml. For example "images/ 1 Winkworth Arboretum.JPG"  V.S. "images/_1 Winkworth Arboretum.JPG", I would suggest removing the spaces in your image names or replacing them with underscores and recreating the galleries, as spaces in file names can cause issues on the web.

Thanks,  I have now removed the spaces in the image names for gallery 1 http://www.mwp.talktalk.net/andybutler/gallery_1.html but the result is the same. As a side issue I would prefer the image titles to have spaces: 1 Winkworth Arboretum. Is this not possible?

The image names may not have spaces in them but the references to them (for images 1 to 9) in the XML file still do,
eg. imageURL="images/ 2HighgroveHouse" thumbURL="thumbs/ 2HighgroveHouse".  Note the spaces immediately following the slashes.
Remove these spaces and all should be well.
(NB There is no need to remove the '.jpg' extensions from the image filenames.)

You still have leading spaces in your filenames for the first 9 image. You removed the file extension  for the images, you will need to add it back.  Did you remove the old images and upload the new ones? Which FTP client are you using? If you are using fetch you will need to delete the SWF from the server and upload it again using a different FTP client such as cyberduck or filezilla.

Yes after you create the gallery edit the gallery.xml in a text editor and change the text between the caption tags, <caption> Change this text </caption>.

Mike and Monkeyboy - thank you for your help advice and advice. It's all working now. It was the leading spaces that appears to have caused the problem.
