Topic: Logo/Branding as title

I have searched the forum for this answer, but nothing has explained this clearly. Felix - please do not answer this question with a link to "there are 5 different ways to add branding..." I've read that already. It has not helped.

Let me also say this - when people purchase the "Pro" version of Simpleviewer, you can expect 'Pros' to be using it. Therefore, branding should be one of the most ROBUST and FLEXIBLE features of the product and also the most INTUITIVE to implement. Your 5 current options are feeble at best:

1. Watermark - a decent option (especially with the built in hyperlink options) but not all users will want text over their images, especially when delivering a slideshow to clients
2. Background image option - waste of time; upper left corner only; no control over positioning
3. Title options - still trying to make this work
4. HTML page with branding already in place - probably the best long term solution but requires tools outside of svBuilder
5. Embed in container SWF - not mobile friendly

I'm trying to utilize option 3 to satisfy my needs. Per your instructions, I'm pasting into the text title field. This however, does nothing. I assume I'm suppose to change "mylogo.png" to the name of my own file. Perhaps even to the name AND location of my logo file on a web server? (ie: I've tried both ways, but to no avail. Nothing shows up in the preview window, nor does anything show up after publishing the gallery.

Re: Logo/Branding as title

Here's a stripped-down XML file which displays an image as a gallery 'Title':

    title="<img src="images/IMG_0127.jpg" width="128" height="96" />"
  <image imageURL="images/IMG_0127.jpg"

The image used for the 'Title' is the main image in the gallery but it can be any image you like.
I've used a relative path to define the location of the image but an absolute path could be used.

The instructions here: … /#branding
... say to enter code such as into the 'Title' field in svBuilder-Pro which is correct, though it may not seem obvious looking at my example.
My example above uses a self-closing tag and the necessary XML character entities have been escaped (which svBuilder-does automatically behind the scenes) as described here: … l#custom_2
I've also used 'width' and 'height' attributes as my image (being the main image in the gallery) is not to be displayed at full size.

Re: Logo/Branding as title

Thank you for your detailed response and XML file example. But the workflow is still not clear to me...

First, let's start with the code I'm supposed to paste into the title text field. When I do, should my logo show up in the preview window in svBuilder? If I understand your example correctly, you use one of the imported images as the logo. But I don't want my logo to be one of the images in my slideshow - I just want my logo above the slideshow. So when I paste into the text field, how do I reference a file? Where should the file be located?

Here is the location of the logo on my web server:

I'd like that logo to appear as the title above my simpleviewer slideshow in svBuilder. I'd also like it to be "clickable" so that it links to my webpage. If I have to edit the XML file after the slideshow is published to make this work, I'm fine with that.

Re: Logo/Branding as title

If you enter an tag into the Title field, the image will not show up in the preview.
If the 's 'src' attribute is defined using an absolute URL, then the image will display in a browser only when the gallery is uploaded to a web server.
Also, if using the as a link, the link will be active only when the gallery is uploaded to a web server.
To use the as a link, use a standard HTML hyperlink tag, such as:

Escaping the required XML character entities (and using the other required options), this becomes:

    title="<a href=";><img src="; width="300" height="50" /></a>"

Re: Logo/Branding as title

Awesome thank you - one last question - the title isn't centered (even though title text is set to align center) the logo is left aligned above the slideshow.

1. How do I center my logo?
2. How do I change the title of the browser page so it isn't some weird long thing referencing my logo?

Re: Logo/Branding as title

1) I'm not sure how an image would react to the titleTextAlignment option. It looks like it might not obey it.
You could try using the 'hspace' attribute in your tag to shift the image along a bit, eg:

title="<a href=";><img src="; hspace"100" width="300" height="50" /></a>"

2) Open up the gallery's HTML index page in a plain text editor and change the contents of the

tags.
