Using the 'modern' gallery style with 'left' thumb position, the space between thumbnails and the active picture is longer than it should. Thumb group is close to the left side of the window and not correctly aligned, the way it is at your demo page.

Try setting maxImageWidth and maxImageHeight in your gallery's XML file to the width of the widest image in your gallery and the height of the tallest image in your gallery respectively.

Currently, these values have not been set and SimpleViewer will use the default values of 1024 and 768.
The first image in your gallery has dimensions of 600px x 450px so SimpleViewer is allowing more space for images than is neccesary.
