Topic: patches in background in Mac OS

Hello,

When creating a modern gallery, the background in the caption sections don't match the rest of the background. I found this problem only after creating the gallery in svbuilder-pro. During the creation of the gallery, the background is fine. It is only after saving it and opening it in the browser that i have noticed the problem. This bug seems to be present only on a mac and not on a windows machine (see screen shot).

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Re: patches in background in Mac OS

The gallery display should certainly be consistent across different browsers.
Ordinarily, the background color of the caption area can be set using the captionBackColor configuration option (in svBuilder-Pro's 'Customize -> Caption' section).

First of all, please make sure that you are using the most recent version of SimpleViewer-Pro (v2.3.2) to ensure that any bugs that were present in previous versions but which have since been fixed are not contributing to your problem.
If necessary, instructions for downloading the latest version and for upgrading existing galleries can be found here.

Please also ensure that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed in all your browsers.
Each browser needs its own version of Adobe Flash Player so please visit this web page in each of your browsers to ensure that Adobe Flash Player is up to date in all of them: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

If this does not help, then please post the URL to your gallery so that I can take a look and try to see the problem for myself. It may help to see what configuration options your gallery uses.

Also, please let me know what browser and version number (and version of Adobe Flash Player) you see the problem in.
Thank you.

Re: patches in background in Mac OS

Thank you for providing the link to your gallery and the additional information.
I have viewed your gallery in Chrome 42, Firefox 37.0.2, Internet Explorer 11, Opera 29 and Safari 5.1.7 on my PC and do not see the patches shown in your screenshot in any of my browsers.
It looks like the problem might be specific to your own Safari browser.
Try completely uninstalling Adobe Flash Player and then reinstall it from scratch to see if this helps.

is your PC a MAC, running a mac OS or a windows machine ?

i still have the same problem after reinstalling flash on my imac.

Re: patches in background in Mac OS

I use a Windows PC and, unfortunately, do not have access to a Mac.

You could try clearing your Flash Player preferences and Safari cache to see if this helps but it looks like the problem might be specific to Safari 7.1.5/Flash Player 17.
Flash Player: System Preferences -> Flash Player -> Advanced (tab) -> Delete All
Safari: Tools -> Reset Safari... -> Select Clear History (deselect other checkboxes) -> Reset

Also, please let me know if you see the problem in any of our test galleries here: http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/pro/#demos
... or here: http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewe … es/modern/

Once you let me know if resetting everything helps and whether or not you see the problem in our own demo galleries, I can contact the developers and log a bug report if necessary.
Thank you.

Re: patches in background in Mac OS

hello steven,

i have cleared flash preferences and have done a reset of safari and i still see patches in my gallery.
i have also tried firefox and i get the same problem. i dough it's the browser.

i've looked at your test galleries via safari and firefox and they work fine. no problems.

Re: patches in background in Mac OS

Please see the following FAQ. I believe it might be the cause of your problem (shifting the background color from '222222' to '202020' making the caption's background stand out).
My gallery displays a color shift. How do I fix this?

In order to disable the color correction, set the useColorCorrection Embed Code Parameter to 'false' as follows:

simpleviewer.load('sv-container', '100%', '100%', '222222', true, null, null, null, false);

Incidentally, I notice in your gallery that you set captionBackColor="222222" but you have not set captionBackOpacity. The default value for captionBackOpacity is '0' so your chosen caption background color will not be visible until you increase this value. Try setting captionBackOpacity="1" for the caption background color to be fully opaque.
