Topic: PLEASE HELP ME Simpleviewer with NVU

okay- so i have all the images in the file and the thumbnails-- i can't save changes to the gallery.xml file- is that normal? I have NO idea what to do from here- do i open the "index.html" in NVU and then paste my images codes? ahh! somebody help me out- THANKS!

I'm not sure what NVU is. Did you try using one of the automatic methods to generate your gallery? http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simp … truct.html

NVU is just my website editor- like Dreamweaver- I have all my files in the right folders and i have uploaded them using my FTP ('fetch") but now i don't know how to actually generate the simpleviewer gallery

he he- yes, but so now i am using Rapidweaver- how do i upload all the html sites i already have ? do you know? i AM making progress though- thank you :)

Firs tof all have you run a basic SimpleViewer gallery from your c: drive to make sure its all working before trying to run it from a web server?

You can run your gallery from your c: drive by clicking on the index.html file. This will run your default browser and is called running 'locally'.
The files and folders should be like the following whether on your c: dirve or on your web server. Running it from your c: drive first lets you check that all your simpleviewer files are working. Any other problems will most likely be web server related.

your_gallery_folder
.........images
.........thumbs
.........gallery.xml
.........index.html
.........swfobject.js
.........viewer.swf

All images including thumbs should be .jpg (lower case extension) with matching file names.

okay- sooooooo now i FINALLY got my gallery all up- published it, and it gives me this stupid error :

"sorry, I cannot display the flash slidehsow for one of the following reasons.
1. Your browser does not support Javascript.
2. If you are using RapidWeaver, please make sure your theme is using the most up-to-date version of the javascript include file. "
